Lessons are held in our natural surface sand outdoor arena (40mx60m). The stables offer lessons to meet the individual needs of all riders, from first lead reign lessons to advanced lessons of both flatwork and jumping. The lessons are taken by a BHS qualified instructor, helped also by other staff of Leacett Cottage, customers are also invited to bring their own horse.
The stables also offer carriage driving lessons from beginner to advanced, we own a wide range of fantastic riding and driving horses ready to help teach you! Lessons can be booked most days between 9am and 6pm, evening lessons are available in the summer months.
Discounts are available on lessons in term time between 9am and 3.30pm and also for blocks of six or more lessons.
Beginner: Minimum age 6 years, teaches the basics of riding and horsemanship, tailored to meet your individual needs. Intermediate: A chance to move onto the next level, perhaps to learn how to canter, or how to jump!
Experienced: Learn how to ride a correct dressage test, or help with jumping a course of jumps.
Kids Club: We hold Kids Club lessons for groups of riders to enjoy a range of jumping and dressage competitions, and the chance to learn basic horsemanship, whilst amongst friends. Members are encouraged to keep a diary of achievements and even sometimes homework!
Carriage Driving: A chance to learn the basics of driving or brush up on your existing skills, either out in the forest or round a course of hazards.
